Terms of Service

Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and TeaHouse Media ("TeaHouse," "we," "us") governing your use of the Groupie Discord bot and this official Groupie website (together, the "Services"). By adding Groupie to a server, using its commands, or browsing this site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

Eligibility

You must meet Discord's minimum age requirements and any higher age required by law where you live. Minors may use the Services only with a parent or guardian's permission where applicable.

Discord rules

Groupie runs inside Discord. You must comply with the Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. We may suspend or terminate access if you use Groupie to harass others, break the law, spam, attempt to exploit or reverse engineer the bot in a way that harms the service, or otherwise interfere with other users.

Your content

You are responsible for the text and media you route through Groupie. You must have the rights to the content you submit. You grant TeaHouse a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, and display your content solely to provide the Services (including sending text to Discord and to TTS providers you enable).

Paid features

Some Groupie capabilities may be offered as paid subscriptions or perks. Fees, renewal, taxes, and refunds may be handled by third parties such as Stripe, Patreon, or Discord. Their terms may apply when you pay through them. We may change pricing with reasonable advance notice where required.

Third parties

The Services rely on Discord and optional voice providers. We are not responsible for outages or policy changes on those platforms.

Disclaimer

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT GROUPIE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TEHOUSE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF GROUPIE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US $100) OR THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR GROUPIE-SPECIFIC FEES IN THE SIX (6) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. NOTHING HERE LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW (FOR EXAMPLE, GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT WHERE PROHIBITED).

Changes

We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this site. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
