Who we are

Groupie is operated by TeaHouse Media ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use Groupie or visit this website ("Services").

What we collect

We do not sell personal information. We collect only what we need to run Groupie.

• Discord identifiers. User IDs for people who use Groupie commands or settings, plus guild (server) IDs and channel IDs you configure for TTS.
• Groupie preferences. Your chosen TTS voice identifier, optional display alias (read before your lines), and per-server settings such as which text channel feeds voice playback and whether usernames are read aloud.
• Message text used for TTS. When you use Groupie to read messages aloud, the text of those messages is processed to generate speech. Depending on server configuration, we may use local engines (for example Piper or Kokoro) or third-party providers (for example ElevenLabs). When a third-party provider is used, the text you send for that feature may be transmitted to that provider under their privacy policy. We do not retain the content of TTS messages after synthesis for playback.
• Billing identifiers (optional). If you subscribe to a paid Groupie tier, we may process Patreon or Stripe identifiers and related billing metadata through those processors.
• Diagnostics and support. Operational logs (for example command usage, errors, and performance) and information you send us by email or Discord when you ask for help.
• This website. If you only browse these pages, our hosting provider may receive standard technical data such as IP address and browser type. We do not use advertising trackers on this micro-site.

How we use information

We use the data above to provide and improve Groupie (voice playback, settings sync, billing, and abuse prevention), to communicate with you about support or critical incidents, and to meet legal obligations. We do not use Groupie data for unrelated marketing or automated profiling.

Legal bases (EEA/UK)

Where European or UK law applies, we rely on appropriate bases such as contract (providing the bot you requested), legitimate interests (securing and improving the service, proportionate analytics), or consent when required.

Sharing

We share information with infrastructure vendors and, when you use third-party TTS, with that provider for the duration required to synthesize audio. Discord receives content and signals needed for the bot to function in your server. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users.

Retention

We keep information as long as needed to operate Groupie and comply with law. When you remove the bot, clear settings, or delete applicable Discord content, we delete or anonymize associated data within a reasonable time unless a longer period is required for security, billing, or legal holds.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No online service is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Groupie is not directed to children under 13, and Discord's own terms restrict younger users. If you believe we have collected data from a child without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

International transfers

We may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights for Groupie data, contact support@arcana.gay. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
